Personalised nutrition, also known as precision nutrition, is a dietary strategy that takes into account an individual’s genetic and phenotypic characteristics, lifestyle, and environmental factors to provide tailored dietary recommendations. The aim is to optimize health outcomes based on the unique characteristics of each person. Personalized nutrition involves using various methods, such as genetic testing, stool, urine and/or blood analysis, and dietary assessments, to calculate an individual’s specific nutrient needs, food preferences, and metabolic responses to food and then formulating dietary recommendations. Our research aims to discover whether this personalized approach can lead to better health outcomes and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
